Embrace the Victory: 10 Student-Athletes from NE10 Earn First Team All-America Honors in 2018 Fall Season

MANSFIELD, Mass. – Following the announcement of Longstreth/NFHCA All-Americans on Monday, the Northeast 10 Conference now has 10 student-athletes from the fall season that achieved First Team All-American status – while 67 were recognized in total as All-Region or All-American honorees.

Out of 15 full-time member schools, 13 NE10 institutions had at least one student-athlete honored for their outstanding performance in the fall season. LIU Post, an associate member in football and field hockey, added student-athletes in both sports.

Five field hockey players were named First Team All-Americans on Monday, the most of any NE10 sport this fall. Stonehill’s Kacie Smith, the league’s Player of the Year for the third-consecutive season, was named East Region Player of the Year on Tuesday in addition to her All-American status.

Three cross country athletes earned First Team honors, including American International’s Leakey Kipkosgei – the individual title winner at the NE10 Championship for the third-straight season. Franklin Pierce added women’s soccer player Veronica Marques, who helped to lead the NE10 champion Ravens to the second round of the NCAA Championship.
