Four NE10 Schools Earn Honors for Both Men’s and Women’s Programs.

MANSFIELD, Mass. – The Northeast-10 Conference had 13 soccer programs recognized for their success in the classroom on Thursday, as United Soccer Coaches announced the Team Academic Award winners for the 2018-19 academic year.

A total of 989 college teams (345 men, 644 women) earned the Team Academic Award, including 255 schools who had both their men’s and women’s programs achieve the honor – including NE10 members Bentley, New Haven, Saint Rose and Stonehill.

In addition to those four schools, American International, Le Moyne, Pace and Southern Connecticut’s women’s programs joined the fray – while the Southern New Hampshire men’s team also earned the academic accolade.

College Team Academic Award recipients are active members of the United Soccer Coaches College Services Program with a composite grade point average of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale for all players on their rosters for the 2018-19 academic year.

It is the Stonehill men’s seventh all-time selection, the most of any NE10 men’s honoree this season, and the Saint Rose women’s 18th selection. Four NE10 women’s teams that earned the Team Academic Award this season have won it an impressive 11 times or more in the award’s history. (AIC–12, New Haven–14, Saint Rose-18, SCSU–11).
