Saint Anselm stunned top-seeded New Haven on Tuesday night, as the NE10 Volleyball Quarterfinals took place at the four higher seeds. The Hawks swept the Chargers in three sets, proving to be the only upset of the first round. No. 2 Adelphi, with it win over Saint Rose, will host the NE10 semifinals and final on Friday (Nov. 9) and Saturday (Nov. 10), respectively.

NEW HAVEN, Conn.– For the second straight season, the Saint Anselm College women's volleyball team advanced to the Northeast-10 Conference Championship Semifinals, as the eighth-seeded Hawks defeated the top-seeded Chargers of the University of New Haven in straight sets in the quarterfinal round on Tuesday night.
Saint Anselm improves to 17-11 on the season while the Chargers, who were the top team in the latest NCAA Division II East Region rankings, fall to 25-5. The Hawks had never defeated New Haven in straight sets prior to Tuesday night's result.
Sophomore Elise Jolly (Merrimack, N.H.) led the Hawks with 12 kills while junior Catie McCarthy (Broad Run, Va.) had 12 digs and 11 kills. Classmate Madison Sollows (West Barnstable, Mass.) and senior Sarah Lowery (Chicago, Ill.) each notched seven kills. Lowery also had 10 digs on the evening and three blocks. Senior Jewel Hays (Aliso Viejo, Calif.) had 36 assists and 10 digs. Sophomore Holly Manchester (Lodi, Wis.) finished the evening with six kills on nine swings for a .556 attack percentage and also had three blocks.

GARDEN CITY, N.Y.- The College of Saint Rose women's volleyball team was swept at Adelphi in tonight's Northeast 10 Conference Championship Tournament Quarterfinal (25-16, 25-12, 25-18).
Junior outside hitter Stevie Schweitzer and sophomore outside hitter Brenna Goebel led Saint Rose (17-12), the seven seed, with six kills each. Senior setter Sam Kubik dished out 20 assists, while junior libero Tina Ceriello topped all players with 18 digs.
Adelphi (26-5), now winners of eight-straight, received a "double-double" of 14 kills and 10 digs from junior outside hitter Sara Bisbe. Senior outside hitter McKenna Clawsonand sophomore middle blocker Cara McKenzieadded 10 kills apiece, McKenzie on .563 hitting. Freshman setter Grace Wegmanndistributed 29 assists, while junior libero Karatina Warburtonelevated 13 Saint Rose attacks.
After the second-seeded Panthers used a 9-2 stretch to take the opener, the hosts tallied 11 of the first 13 points to cruise in the second set. Adelphi then forced Saint Rose to hit negative in the third set to complete the sweep and move to 14-1 at home this fall. Adelphi hit .314 on the night.

SPRINGFIELD, Massachusetts— The American International College volleyball team hosted Pace University in the NE10 Quarterfinals on Tuesday, November 6. The Yellow Jackets avenged a regular-season loss to the Setters by taking the match that mattered 3-1.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Down 2-1 early in the first set, the Yellow Jackets took five of the next six points to jump into a 6-3 lead. The Setters returned the favor by taking an 8-7 lead before AIC went on another run to go up 18-11. Pace did not give up as they fought back to tie the set up at 24. The Yellow Jackets took the next two points to take the first set, 26-24.
- AIC led 10-5 in the second set when the Setters went on a 5-0 run to tie the set up. The teams traded runs and points until they were tied at 24. After a Yellow Jacket error that gave Pace set point, AIC rallied behind a Setter error and back-to-back kills by senior Diva Rivas-Reyes to take the second set, 27-25.
- With their season at risk of being over, the Setters came out focused in the third set. Tied at seven, the Setters went on a 6-0 run to take a 13-7 lead. The Yellow Jackets tried to stop the streak with three points of their own, but the Setters rallied off 11 of the next 12 points to force a fourth set.
- Trailing 6-5 in the fourth set, the Yellow Jackets started to heat up as they went on a 6-0 run and took an 11-6 lead. From that point on, the Yellow Jackets kept the Setters at bay as they took the set 25-17 and the match 3-1 to advance to the NE10 Semifinals.

NEW HAVEN, Conn.– Behind a balanced offensive attack, the Southern Connecticut State University volleyball team swept Southern New Hampshire University, 3-0 (25-23, 25-18, 25-23), in a Northeast 10 Conference Championship Quarterfinal match-up at Pelz Gym in New Haven, Conn. With the win, and Saint Anselm's upset of top-seeded New Haven, the Owls will travel to Garden City, N.Y. to take on the Hawks in the NE10 Semifinals hosted by Adelphi University. The Owls improve to 19-13 on the season.
The Owls' "Big 3" of Alyssa Gage (Beverly Hills, Fla.), Gabriela Vazquez (Meriden, Conn.) and Leanna Jadus (Long Beach, Calif.) each had double-digit kills led by Vazquez's 14 while Gage and Jadus each had 13 kills each. Gage also had 10 digs while Jadus contributed 11 for her 17th double-double of the season. Freshman Kailyn O'Neal (Katy, Texas) had 36 assists and three timely kills from the setter position.
