Marciano and Predanic Named First Team All-Americans.

MANSFIELD, Mass. – Five outstanding players from the Northeast-10 Conference earned United Soccer Coaches All-America honors earlier this week, including three student-athletes who were named to the First Team, following the conclusion of the 2019 season.

Adelphi’s Paolo Marciano and Franklin Pierce’s Carlos Ferrando Felis represented the league on the men’s side, while the Saint Rose trio of Nina Predanic, Marika Laurendeau and Morgan Burchhardt earned All-American status on the women’s side.

Just a couple days after United Soccer Coaches announced a combined 35 men’s and women’s NE10 student-athletes named to their All-East Region teams, the conference grabbed more recognition – led by Marciano and Predanic, who were First Team selections.

Both NE10 Players of the Year in their own right, Marciano and Predanic were the league’s high scorers in men’s and women’s soccer, respectively, this season. Marciano led the Panthers to an NE10 regular-season title, while Predanic highlighted a historic postseason run by the Golden Knights, which included an NE10 and East Region championships, as well as an appearance in the NCAA semifinals.

Felis, a Second Team All-American, ushered the Ravens into the NCAA quarterfinals this year, capping-off a strong postseason performance. He was named the NE10 Defensive Player of the Year, after helping Franklin Pierce become the stingiest defense in the league – allowing just 0.69 goals per game.

Laurendeau, a Second Team selection, and Burchhardt, a Third Team All-American, assisted Predanic in getting Saint Rose to within one game of playing for a national championship. Laurendeau’s 21 wins as goalkeeper were nine more than the next closest goalie in the league this season, while Burchhardt ranked second in the NE10 in assists (14).
