88 NE10 Student-Athletes Earn Academic All-Conference Honors
MANSFIELD, Mass. – The Northeast 10 Conference proudly released the Academic All-Conference teams for the fall season of 2018 on Friday afternoon – honoring 88 exceptional student-athletes who make an impact on the playing surface and in the classroom.
To be eligible for selection to the NE10 Academic All-Conference teams, a student-athlete must have met or exceeded the following minimum requirements: started in at least half or played in at least two-thirds of the team’s competitions as a significant contributor and achieved a 3.30 cumulative GPA (on a 4.0 scale).
For a full list of honorees, please see below.
Of the 88 student-athletes that earned recognition, 30 are repeat honorees from the fall semester of 2017. The Academic All-Conference teams represent a diverse group of student-athletes representing each of the league’s 15 member institutions and one associate member.
Stonehill had 11 student-athletes earn academic honors, the most of any school in the NE10, with Merrimack (10) and Bentley (9) close behind. The Warriors, reigning NE10 field hockey champions, had four field hockey student-athletes honored – the most of any school in one particular sport.
LIU Post – the 2018 NE10 football regular-season champion – was tied with Bentley for the most football student-athletes on the Academic All-Conference team with three.
Four NE10 Player of the Year award winners are represented as well – including American International’s Jana Potic (volleyball), Franklin Pierce’s Veronica Marques (women’s soccer), and Stonehill’s duo of Anna Lastra (cross country) and Kacie Smith (Stonehill).
