SCSU Men, Stonehill Women Rank First in NE10 Indoor Track & Field Coaches' Poll

MANSFIELD, Mass. – For the second-straight season, the Southern Connecticut men’s and Stonehill women’s indoor track and field programs have been selected to win their respective Northeast 10 Conference Championships this weekend at Smith College. The two-day event begins Saturday and will be hosted by American International College.

The Owls picked up 99 points and nine of 10 first-place votes they were eligible to receive, besting AIC (86 points, one first-place vote) and Stonehill (84 points) on the men’s side. Merrimack picked up the final first-place tally on its way to fourth-place (73 points). SCSU is a two-time defending champion and has won 13 NE10 indoor titles overall.

For the women, Stonehill was a unanimous first-place selection, as head coaches are not allowed to vote for their own team. The Skyhawks earned 121 points (11 first-place votes), edging SCSU (106 points, one first-place vote) and Assumption (100 points). Stonehill has won the last five NE10 indoor championships.
