Undefeated Dolphins Take Three of Six Major Awards.
MANSFIELD, Mass. – Le Moyne’s Bryanna Fazio, who helped the Dolphins to an undefeated record during the regular season and the No. 1 ranking in the IWLCA Poll, has been named Northeast 10 Conference Women’s Lacrosse Attacker of the Year – as voted upon by the league’s head coaches.
For the complete list of honorees, please see below. Le Moyne, the regular-season champion and top seed in the NE10 Championship, led all programs with eight All-Conference selections – five of which were First Team members. Adelphi had six selections, second-most of all teams in the league.
The Dolphins will host the NE10 semifinals and championship game this weekend in Syracuse, N.Y., as the quarterfinals were played on Wednesday. The semifinals will be on Saturday and the championship on Sunday – with all games live on NE10 NOW.
Fazio led the Dolphins in scoring this season, tying for the fourth-most goals in the league with 60 and accumulating 85 total points – fifth-most in the NE10. She also won 135 draw controls and shot 63.2-percent from the field. Her 61 points in conference play is fifth-most among all players. Fazio also earned a spot on the All-Conference First Team, as Le Moyne prepares to host the NE10 Championship this weekend.
Fazio’s teammate, Olivia McEntee, has been named Defensive Player of the Year after helping the Dolphins become the second-best scoring defense in all of Division II – allowing only 5.24 goals per game. McEntee contributed with 35 ground balls and 26 caused turnovers, as Le Moyne allowed just one opponent all season to score double digits (Merrimack on Apr. 13).
Bentley’s Eliza Bresler was named NE10 Goalkeeper of the Year after a stellar season in net that saw her lead the conference in saves with 207 – which was fifth-most in the nation. Her save percentage of 53.1 was second-best in the conference, as she helped the Falcons to the No. 4 seed in the NE10 Championship. Bresler was on the First Team as a goalie, sharing the spot with Le Moyne’s Hannah George.
New Haven’s Mackenzie Reh had a sensational season, leading her to becoming Midfielder of the Year. In the best lacrosse conference in all of Division II, Reh led in goals scored (85) and total points (106) to lead the Chargers to the NE10 Championship. She ranks in the top 10 in the country when it comes to goals, goals per game and total points.
Pace’s Kayla Conway enjoyed a highly-successful freshman campaign, leading her to becoming NE10 Rookie of the Year. She scored 29 goals – second-most on her team – while recording 31 total points and 57 draw controls overall. The Setters earned the No. 3 seed in the NE10 Championship behind Conway’s contributions.
Le Moyne’s Kathy Taylor was selected as NE10 Coach of the Year after leading the Dolphins to an undefeated regular season, the top seed in the NE10 Championship and the No. 1 ranking in the IWLCA Poll. The Dolphins will host the league championship this weekend, currently sitting with an overall mark of 18-0 (13-0 NE10).
