NE10 Announces Additions to Conference Staff
MANSFIELD, Mass. – Ben Stockwell and Annie Martin, a pair of individuals with deep Northeast-10 Conference roots, will be joining the league office’s staff in the coming months. Stockwell will begin his new role as the Director of Strategic Communications for Multimedia Services on June 24, while Martin will serve as the NE10’s 2019-20 Administrative Intern effective September 5.
“When we began these searches earlier this spring, we hoped we would draw interest from those that know us best, our own membership”, said NE10 Commissioner Julie Ruppert. “And now that we have successfully filled the positions, we couldn’t be more thrilled to have Ben and Annie join our team. They are enthusiastic, dynamic individuals who believe in the NE10 and Division II and who will bring a commitment to serving our member institutions to the job every day. We are so excited for the future.”
Stockwell joins the staff from NE10 member Assumption College, where he served for the past three years as the Assistant Director of Athletics for Communications. He oversaw communications, marketing and promotions for the entire athletic department – with a special emphasis on sports information and multimedia duties. During 2018-19, Stockwell led the department’s efforts in ushering in NE10 NOW, the league’s new digital streaming platform.
In his new role at the NE10, Stockwell will be responsible for directing all multimedia efforts for the conference’s 24 championship sports. He will assist in the league’s annual communications strategy on both the NE10 website and social media applications, while promoting the conference with dynamic content on NE10 NOW.
“I’m thrilled to join the Northeast 10 as the Director of Strategic Communications and Multimedia Services, and am excited with everyone on staff,” said Stockwell. “I look forward to helping the NE10 execute its vision as well as help push it forward and build on its reputation as the best Division II conference in the nation. I would like to thank Commissioner Julie Ruppert for this opportunity, as well as the rest of the staff.”
Martin, a four-year lacrosse student-athlete at NE10 member Saint Michael’s College, will begin her professional life with the NE10 after concluding her college career with the Purple Knights. She served as team captain during her senior season, while also representing Saint Michael’s on the NE10 Student-Athlete Advisory Council. Martin was a Co-Chair for Hope Happens Here, a student-led movement that aims to promote mental health awareness.
As Administrative Intern, Martin will look to expand the presence of the NE10’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee – finding ways to enrich the student-athlete experience in accordance with the league’s strategic plan. She will also assist in preparations for NE10 Championship events throughout the 2019-20 academic year as well as supporting many of the elements of the NE10’s Embracing Excellence: A Strategic Vision.
“I’m thrilled for the opportunity to begin my professional career in athletic administration,” said Martin. “Playing in the NE10 and my involvement in the NE10 SAAC were defining components of my collegiate career. After working alongside students and administrators at Saint Michael’s, I learned the importance of dedicated leaders with strong values. I’m excited to continue to represent this conference and its commitment to values.”
