Adelphi, SNHU Earn Top Seeds in Upcoming NE10 Baseball Championship

Panthers, Penmen Earn NE10 Regular-Season Titles; Claim Top Spots in NE10 Championship.


MANSFIELD, Mass. - Adelphi and Southern New Hampshire, a pair of teams ranked in the top 15 of the NCBWA Poll, earned regular-season titles in the Northeast 10 Conference and will enter the Baseball Championship this week as top seeds in their respective divisions - as announced by the league office on Saturday night. The Panthers are ranked No. 7 in the NCBWA Poll, while the Penmen are No. 15. 

Adelphi won the Southwest Division crown after a remarkable season, going 34-6-1 overall (22-2-1 NE10) and finished the season going 20-1-1 in the final 22 games. Southern New Hampshire, the Northeast Division champions, went 36-11 (22-6 NE10) - while winning eight of its final nine contests. Bentley, Merrimack and Franklin Pierce join SNHU in the Northeast Division, while Pace, Le Moyne and Southern Connecticut fall in sequence behind Adelphi in the Southwest. The NE10 Baseball Championship quarterfinals are on Tuesday, May 7, with Championship Weekend scheduled for Thursday, May 9 through Saturday, May 11 - weather-dependent. 

The highest remaining seed from the Southwest Division will host NE10 Championship Weekend and the final will be broadcast live on NE10 NOW on Saturday.

* AIC also finished with an 8-10 record. SCSU earned the #4 seed based on a 2-1 series record vs. AIC during the regular season.
