Three NE10 Programs to Host Regional Games.
MANSFIELD, Mass. – Nine teams from six different schools across the Northeast 10 Conference have been selected to compete in 2019 NCAA Spring Championships as of Tuesday morning – with three programs hosting regional round games this week.
Four softball teams, three men’s lacrosse teams and a pair of women’s lacrosse teams will be focused on winning a national championship when play begins on Wednesday. Le Moyne is tabbed to host both lacrosse regionals, while Saint Anselm plays host for the softball regional.
Men’s Lacrosse
Le Moyne earned the top seed in the North and will play the winner of No. 4 Mercy and No. 5 Seton Hill in the quarterfinals on Saturday at Ted Grant Field. The Dolphins won the NE10 Championship this past weekend with an 11-9 victory over Adelphi. The Panthers also earned a first-round bye and will play in the quarters on Saturday, while sixth-seeded Merrimack opens on Wednesday against No. 3 Mercyhurst. The Men’s Lacrosse title game is slated for May 26 at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Pa.
Women’s Lacrosse
Despite a loss in the NE10 Championship on Sunday, Le Moyne captured the No. 1 seed and earned the right to host the East Regional in Syracuse. The Dolphins will take on No. 4 Mercy on Friday at Ted Grant Field, while No. 3 Adelphi will take on No. 2 LIU Post later in the afternoon. The Women’s Lacrosse title game has been scheduled for May 19 at GVSU Lacrosse Stadium on the campus of Grand Valley State University.
Softball
After a thrilling extra-inning win in the NE10 title game this past Saturday, Saint Anselm has earned the top seed in the East Region and will serve as host of one of the two regional sites. The Hawks will play No. 8 Bridgeport on Thursday in Manchester. Joining Saint Anselm is No. 5 Southern New Hampshire, which will take on No. 4 Georgian Court, while No. 6 Adelphi will and No. 7 New Haven are on the other side of the East Region playing at Wilmington (DE). The NCAA Softball finals will be held May 23-27 and hosted by Metropolitan State University of Denver.
