Over 72% of NE10 Teams Post Average GPA of 3.0 or Better.

MANSFIELD, Mass. – The Northeast 10 Conference announced its 2018-19 Team Academic Excellence Award winners on Wednesday, honoring the programs with the highest team GPA in each of the conference’s 24 sports throughout the academic year.

A remarkable 72-percent of the league’s 292 teams achieved a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher, while more than 35-percent had a 3.3 or better for the second-straight year. To see the complete list of teams that have been honored, please see below. 22 total plaques are honored to NE10 programs, with track & field combined into one due to the same GPA numbers used for indoor and outdoor.

In total, 211 of 292 NE10 programs had at least a 3.0 GPA, while 103 teams hit the 3.3 mark. There were 28 programs that were 3.5 or above, up from 24 in the 2017-18 season, which accounted for nearly 10-percent of the league’s teams.

Four different schools each had four teams recognized for their academic success, as Adelphi, Bentley, Pace and Southern New Hampshire led all NE10 members. Stonehill added a pair of its own to the mix, in football and women’s cross country.

Three teams that also won conference championships were among the programs recognized, as Stonehill women’s cross country (3.609), SNHU ice hockey (3.386) and men’s tennis (3.737) claimed honors. Men’s tennis for the Penmen posted the single-highest GPA of any NE10 team for the second-straight season.

Across the board, women’s swimming & diving led all NE10 sports with a combined 3.421 GPA when taking all programs into consideration. Women’s soccer (3.388), women’s tennis (3.366), women’s golf (3.365), volleyball (3.322) and women’s cross country (3.317) all were above a 3.3 GPA.
