3,631 Student-Athletes Named Honored by Northeast-10 Conference
MANSFIELD, Mass. - The Northeast-10 Conference announced that 3,631 of it's more than 6,000 student-athletes have been named to the Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll for the spring 2018 semester. The NE10 Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll program recognizes the conference’s student-athletes for their achievements within the classroom. In order to be eligible for selection, a student-athlete must have met or exceeded a minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale.

The announcement illustrates the league's student-athletes continue to excel at a remarkably high level in the classroom. Of those that were recognized, 284 student-athletes posted a perfect 4.0 GPA this past spring. The total of 284 represents an increase of 18 from the same timeframe last year.
"Our student-athletes continue to succeed at extremely high levels in the classroom, and once again, I am so proud of their accomplishments." said NE10 Commissioner Julie Ruppert. "Our membership's commitment to academic success is unparalleled nationally, and this release proves that once again."
A remarkable 13 of the conference's 15 institutions - 87% of the league's membership - had at least 50% of their total student-athlete population claim NE10 Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll laurels.
Bentley had the most student-athletes earn CHR honors among the 15 NE10 schools with 369 in total. Adelphi, meanwhile, had the highest percentage of student-athletes earn at least a 3.0 GPA this past spring. Remarkably, 285 of the 356 Adelphi student-athletes (80.1%) were named to the Honor Roll. Both schools led in these two categories last year as well.
Adelphi also led the NE10 in student-athletes registering a 4.0 as 33 Panthers acheived that benchmark this past semester. Franklin Pierce (28), and Merrimack (27) finished among the top three in that category. Fairly remarkably, Adelphi, Bentley, Merrimack, Pace, Saint Michael's, and Southern New Hampshire each had at least 50% of their overall student-athlete population post at least a 3.5 this past spring.
Assumption had the second most honorees with 297, while Adelphi was third with 285. Le Moyne had the second-highest percentage of student-athletes post a 3.0 or better at 79.3%, while Bentley finished third at 75.3%. Southern New Hampshire also surpassed the 70% plateau as 70.6% of all Penmen were recognized for their efforts in the classroom.
Football led all sports in representation as 379 student-athletes were honored. Women’s soccer was second with 3298, while men's lacrosse was third with 279. The sports of women's track and field (265), baseball (259), women's lacrosse (259), men's track and field (236), field hockey (222), men's soccer (211), and softball (211) all had more than 200 student-athletes recognized as well.
