MANSFIELD, Mass. – The Northeast-10 Conference released its 2017-18 Team Academic Excellence Award winners today, honoring the programs with the highest team GPA in each of the conference’s 24 sports throughout the academic year. In total, 73% of the league’s 295 teams achieved a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher.

The highest team GPA by sport is recognized and the teams that are awarded receive a plaque to commemorate their accomplishment. To see the complete list of teams that were honored today, please see below.

In total, 216 of the conference's 295 teams posted at least an average GPA of 3.0. Perhaps even more impressive is the fact that 103 of the NE10's athletic programs competing posted an average GPA of 3.3 or greater. That number represents 35% of the teams in the league, which is up from 29% last year. 24 teams posted a team GPA of 3.5 or better.

Pace led all NE10 members with five teams being recognized for their academic success this past year. Bentley and Saint Michael's each had four, while Merrimack had three. Adelphi, Le Moyne, and Southern New Hampshire each had two apiece.

Three teams that also won conference championships were among the programs recognized. The Bentley Men's Golf team (3.430), Merrimack Baseball team (3.214), and the SNHU Men's Tennis team (3.735). The Penmen's men's tennis squad posted the highest team GPA of the 295 NE10 programs with their 3.735.

11 NE10 members had each of their athletic programs average a 3.0 or better. Adelphi, Assumption, Bentley, Le Moyne, Merrimack, New Haven, Pace, Saint Michael's, Saint Rose, SNHU, and Stonehill each acheived this prestigious accomplishment.
