South Easton, Mass. – The Northeast-10 Conference has announced its Academic All-Conference teams for the 2011 fall athletic season. 92 student-athletes from the seven fall sports; men's and women's cross country, football, field hockey, men's and women's soccer, and volleyball, were recognized for their outstanding achievements in the classroom and on the playing field.

The 92 student-athletes, which were selected, are an increase of nine more then were recognized during the fall campaign a year ago.

Among the student-athletes that were named to this prestigious list are two Northeast-10 Conference players of the year in their respective sports. Christina Cuffari from The College of Saint Rose (women's soccer) and April Daugherty from Merrimack College (field hockey) were both named Academic All-Conference selections.

Bentley University led all schools with fifteen student-athletes recognized, followed by Stonehill College, which had thirteen honorees on the Fall 2011 Academic All Conference Teams. Southern Connecticut State University placed third with eight student-athletes selected, while Franklin Pierce University was fourth with seven.

Each of the sixteen member institutions had at least two student-athletes named to Academic All-Conference teams, with eleven schools having five or more selected.

By sport, women's soccer led the way with 21 academic all-conference student-athletes honored, followed by field hockey, which had 18 student-athletes tabbed. Men's soccer checked in with the third-most selections, as there were 17 student-athletes recognized.

Among the women's soccer honorees were four members of the national champion Saint Rose Golden Knights. The aforementioned Cuffari was joined by teammates Derith Fernandes, Meagan McKinney and Carmelina Puopolo.

Puopolo was also selected as the National Soccer Coaches Association of America Division II Player of the Year.

Also recognized were two members of the national finalist University of Massachusetts Lowell River Hawks field hockey team, and three members of the national semifinalist men's soccer team representing Franklin Pierce University.
