WEST HAVEN, Conn. - University of New Haven student-athletes joined their fellow students on Monday, April 15 at New Haven's "Disable the Label" Day. The event was co-sponsored by Delta Alpha Pi, New Haven Student Activities, SCOPE and Sigma Chi.
The aim of Disable the Label Day is to raise awareness while also appreciating the diversity brought to the university by students who have various disabilities.
Student-athletes from the New Haven men's soccer, women's soccer and football programs participated in adaptive sports at the David A. Beckerman Recreation Center. Other events around campus included sessions on canine therapy, accessible design and information on physical and mental disabilities.
