Embrace The Impact: Saint Rose SAAC Participates in 'Adopt A Family' Program

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

ALBANY, N.Y. - The College of Saint Rose Student Athletic Advisory Committee (SAAC) continued its annual holiday tradition of partnering with the Albany County Department for Children, Youth and Families to participate in the "Adopt a Family" program.

This year, Saint Rose SAAC raised more than $600 to purchase presents for a local woman and her seven children, aged zero to 17. The student-athletes will be delivering the presents to the family this week. Recently, the committee used its final meeting of the semester to wrap presents, wear ugly Christmas sweaters and listen to holiday music.

Since its inception more than 35 years ago, the Adopt-A-Family Program has helped make the holidays a special time for hundreds of local children and families. The Department for Children, Youth and Families matches families with donors who can make the season a little better for children and families in Albany County.

This feature is part of the NE10's Embrace the Impact week which runs from Monday, December 18 through Friday, December 22. One of the tenents of the NE10's recently-introduced branding campaign is 'Our Character Remains Undefeated'. The headline speaks directly to the league's commitment to community-service efforts, and how it is a hallmark of the league and what it stands for: that the NE10's student-athletes exhibit great character; they conduct themselves with integrity on and off the field of play through hard work.

Schedule of Embrace the Impact Releases:
Monday - Southern New Hampshire 'Joy Jars'
Tuesday - Adelphi Women's Basketball Adds Bianca to it's Roster through Team IMPACT
Wednesday - Franklin Pierce Joins Forces with Special Olympics
Thursday - Saint Rose SAAC 'Adopts a Family'
