Top Five Schools in PC Standings Within 13 Points of Each Other.
MANSFIELD, Mass. – With just NCAA postseason play remaining for soccer and volleyball, the Northeast-10 Conference Presidents' Cup standings are complete for the fall season – and Southern New Hampshire ranks at the top of the list.
The Penmen – who finished fourth in the 2018-19 Presidents' Cup standings – have a slim lead heading into the winter season with 86 total points, which is 77-percent of the maximum amount. Stonehill is right behind in second, boasting 82.5 points and 74-percent of the maximum.
Adelphi (75 points) is third, while Assumption and Franklin Pierce (73.5 points) are currently tied for fourth place. Less than 13 points separate SNHU from the rest of the top five in the standings. For the complete standings, please see below.
The NE10 Presidents' Cup is presented annually at the conclusion of the academic year, signifying overall athletic excellence in the league. The honor is awarded to the institution that compiles the most cumulative points based on finishes in the regular season standings from all of its programs competing in league championships.
It is the second-straight year that SNHU has led the standings after the fall season. The Penmen finished tied for second in field hockey, second in women's cross country, third in men's soccer and tied for fourth in women's soccer – earning double-digit point totals in six of nine sports.
Stonehill received big points for its NE10 Women's Cross Country Championship, in addition to its second-place finishes in both men's cross country and women's soccer. Adelphi won the regular season title in men's soccer, while finished tied for second in field hockey and tied for first in women's tennis.
Bentley (68), Saint Anselm (62), American International (57), Le Moyne (51.5) and New Haven (49) round-out the top 10 in the standings.
Of all current NE10 institutions, Bentley has the most Presidents' Cup victories with eight all-time, while Stonehill has five and Adelphi has four.
