FOOTBALL

Stonehill at American International: Oct. 9 – 12:00 p.m. (Live StatsVideo)

After getting off to a 3-0 start this season, American International has lost its past two contests to Bentley and Southern Connecticut. The Yellow Jackets (3-2, 1-2 NE10) will look to get back on track at home Saturday, but will not have it easy against a well-rested Stonehill team. The Skyhawks (3-1, 1-1 NE10) are coming off a bye week.

AIC redshirt junior quarterback Jayson Demild continues to be a potent passing threat, as he leads the league in passing touchdowns (14) and is second in passing yards per game (268.8). However, Stonehill's offense is averaging 32.5 points per game and is led by 2019 NE10 MVP Justin Felder, who is averaging a league-high 146.3 rushing yards per contest. During the last meeting in 2019, Stonehill beat AIC, 31-13.

Saint Anselm at New Haven: Oct. 9 – 1:00 p.m. (Live StatsVideo)

Willoughby currently leads all NE10 quarterbacks with 352.5 passing yards per game and ranks third with 10 touchdown passes.

New Haven (3-1, 2-0 NE10) has one of the stoutest defenses in the league, allowing a league-low 16.0 points per game to opponents, as well as a league-best 15 sacks. The Chargers will look to contain Willoughby and Saint Anselm's (1-3, 1-2 NE10) offensive attack, while avenging its 37-31 loss to the Hawks during the 2019 season.

FIELD HOCKEY

Pace at Bentley: Oct. 8 – 4:00 p.m. (Live StatsVideo)

Friday's matchup features two of the NE10's hottest teams as the Setters have won five of six in the NE10 after starting 0-2, while the Falcons have claimed three wins in their last three contests. In net, 2018 NE10 Rookie of the Year Grace Henderson has a 1.08 GAA with 49 saves and an .803 save percentage. Bentley is averaging 2.1 goals per game, anchored by four goals apiece from Ava Bevilacqua and Katie Thies. SNHU has dropped two consecutive games to fall to 1-5 in the NE10, but both were against nationally ranked teams. A win could propel a surge toward one of the final playoff spots.

Two teams in the mix for the NE10 postseason will meet on Saturday when Adelphi (4-3-1, 4-3-0 NE10) hits the road for Saint Michael's (4-5-1, 2-4-1 NE10). The Panthers are on a three-game winning streak, while the Purple Knights have lost their last three and look to get snap their losing skid.

It will be a defensive battle on Saturday, as the two sides have combined for just 18 goals in 18 games this season. Saint Michael's junior goalkeeper Katie Escobedo has three shutouts in nine games, while Adelphi's defense has surrendered just a 0.85 goals against average. The latest contest between the two programs in 2019 resulted in a defensive stalemate for the majority of the match until Adelphi graduate student Jessica Petry scored in the second overtime on a penalty kick to help her team to a 1-0 win.

Saint Rose at Assumption: Oct. 9 – 3:00 p.m. (Live StatsVideo)

No. 10 Saint Rose and Assumption are two of only three remaining unbeaten teams in NE10 play this season, as the two sides square-off on Saturday in Worcester, Mass. The Golden Knights (8-0-1, 5-0-1 NE10) have won their last two contests, while the Greyhounds (4-1-4, 2-0-4 NE10) have earned draws in four of their last five matches.

It will be a battle of first-year standouts, as Saint Rose freshman Mia Klammer leads the NE10 with seven goals and 16 points this season, while Assumption freshman Julia Walsh ranks third in the league in saves (45), fourth in save percentage (.849) and second in shutouts (4). Assumption beat Saint Rose, 2-1, in 2019 – the same season that the Golden Knights won the NE10 and advanced to the NCAA semifinals.

VOLLEYBALL

Adelphi at Assumption: Oct. 9 – 12:00 p.m. (Live StatsVideo)

Assumption, a winner in three of its past four matches, will welcome Adelphi on Saturday in a match with two teams firmly in the conversation for the NE10 postseason. The Greyhounds (5-4, 3-1 NE10) are coming off a loss to SNHU, while the Panthers (12-5, 2-1 NE10) recently swept Pace, 3-0.

Freshman Alexis Distasio of Assumption ranks fifth in kills per set (3.28) this season, while Adelphi senior Jamie Yonker – a three-time NE10 Libero of the Week – leads the league in digs (313) and is third in digs per set (5.31). The Greyhounds look for their first win over the Panthers since the 2016 season.

Stonehill at Franklin Pierce: Oct. 9 – 1:00 p.m. (Live StatsVideo)

Stonehill has been one of the hottest teams in the NE10 to start the season and looks to keep up its momentum on the road at Franklin Pierce on Saturday. The Ravens (8-5, 2-1 NE10) are coming off a stunning 3-1 upset win over reigning NE10 champion Bentley and they look to slow down the Skyhawks (11-5, 2-0 NE10), who have won six-straight matches.

Franklin Pierce sophomore Morgan Schmutzler ranks second in the NE10 in digs per set (5.38), while Stonehill senior Abby Remick – a former NE10 Player of the Week - is fifth in total kills with 170. The Skyhawks have won the past two meetings against the Ravens, dating back to the 2018 season.

WOMEN'S TENNIS

Stonehill at Franklin Pierce: Oct. 9 – 1:00 p.m.

It will be a championship rematch when Stonehill visits Franklin Pierce on Saturday, as the two programs played for both the NE10 and East Region Championships this past spring. The Ravens (6-1, 6-1 NE10) came out victorious that day and the Skyhawks (5-2, 5-2 NE10) look for payback this weekend, as less than two weeks remain in the regular season.

Graduate student Estela Carra is an undefeated 7-0 in singles this season for Franklin Pierce, while Stonehill's powerhouse doubles combo of juniors Cristina Solorzano Valencia and Steffi Antao looks to play a big role in Saturday's outcome.

Franklin Pierce at Le Moyne: Oct. 10 – 4:00 p.m.

Franklin Pierce's challenging weekend does not end with Stonehill – it actually gets markedly more difficult with a road trip to Syracuse to play undefeated Le Moyne on Sunday. The two teams played in Rindge, N.H., on Sept. 22, but the match was ruled a "no contest" due to inclement weather, and a make-up match was scheduled.

The Dolphins (9-0, 7-0 NE10) are off to a perfect start to the season, which includes wins over Adelphi and Southern New Hampshire. Le Moyne's final two matches of the season, though, come against Franklin Pierce and Stonehill (Oct. 16), as teams scrap for the NE10 regular season title. A win on Sunday would secure the Dolphins' a share of their first NE10 Regular Season Title in program history.
