MANSFIELD, Mass. – Colleen Quaglia from the Saint Rose women's swimming and diving team has been named the Northeast-10 Conference Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year award, as announced during the conference's virtual award show Thursday evening.

The NE10 presents its prestigious Scholar-Athlete of the Year awards to a male and a female graduating student-athlete who have each exhausted their athletic eligibility and who have exhibited sustained excellence in both academic achievement and athletic competition. To be nominated, a student-athlete must have earned a final cumulative GPA of at least 3.30 and must be enrolled in a full-time academic course load. The award is voted upon annually by a committee comprised of institutional faculty members and athletics administrators.

Quaglia joins a group of past Saint Rose winners that include: Caitlin Brauer, Women's Swimming and Diving (2013) and Christina Cuffari, Women's Soccer (2012); along with men honorees Julian Lipinski, Men's Basketball (2018); Dominykas Milka, Men's Basketball (2014); and Steve Dagostino, Men's Basketball (2008).

Quaglia, who maintained a 4.00 GPA throughout her undergraduate and graduate student career as an accounting major, is one of the most decorated student-athletes in Golden Knights history. She was a three-time All-American, a two-time College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-American®, and a two-time College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) first-team Scholar All-American. In addition, she was named the Female Swimmer of the Meet at this year's NE10 Championships and garnered the prestigious NE10 Sports Excellence Award for women's swimming and diving this past spring.

Quaglia, a member of the Delta Mu Delta business honor society, won the 500-yard freestyle, the 400 individual medley, and the 200 butterfly, while meeting NCAA provisional qualifying standards in each event at the 2022 NE10 Championships, and was named the NE10 Women's Swimmer of the Week on six occasions this season.

Quaglia holds eight individual school records and is part of three record holding relay teams. She has twice earned the prestigious NE10 Elite 24 Award for having the highest GPA among all student-athletes at the conference championships. She was recently one of only two NE10 student-athletes, along with Southern Connecticut State's Christopher LeBeau (men's indoor track & field), to be named to the NE10 Winter Season Academic All-Conference team for the third time in their careers.
