AUSTIN, Texas – Five student-athletes from the Northeast-10 Conference have been named Capital One Academic All-Americans, as the selections made by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) were released this week.

Adelphi’s Alexa Froccaro, Merrimack’s Vince Bellino, LIU Post’s Dani Crouse, Bentley’s Gina Lirange and Saint Michaels’ Jackie Chisholm all collected Capital One Academic All-America accolades.

Crouse, Bellino and Froccaro all garnered first-team honors, while Lirange was a second-team selection and Chisholm landed on the third team. Bellino was the only representative on the Division II men’s at-large team, while the NE-10 had four honorees on the women’s at-large team.

The NE-10 had three selections from the sport of field hockey in Crouse, Lirange and Chisholm. The conference was also represented in women’s lacrosse by Froccaro and men’s tennis by Bellino.

Froccaro earned a 3.77 grade-point average in communications, while starting all 22 games for the Panthers at attack in her final season. She scored 72 goals and tallied 26 assists for a total of 98 points to help guide Adelphi to both their second consecutive Northeast-10 Conference title and NCAA National Championship.

Bellino, a finance major and owner of a 3.97 GPA, put an exclamation point on his career with another successful season for the Warriors. Serving as the program's lone senior, Bellino led Merrimack to a fifth straight regular season title and a third Northeast-10 Championship in the last four seasons.

Crouse, a 4.0 student while at LIU Post, was one of several key players for a Pioneers team that made its second straight national championship contest. She was the NE-10 Defensive Player of the Year and a first team All-America honoree courtesy of Synapse Sports and the National Field Hockey Coaches’ Association (NFHCA) after totaling 26 points on the season.

Lirange, the NE-10 Co-Woman of the Year, graduated Summa Cum Laude with a GPA north of 3.8, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in accountancy. She earned first team all-conference and Division II All-America second team honors from the NFHCA and Synapse Sports after providing ten goals, five assists and three game-winners.

Chisholm, the NE-10 Goalkeeper of the Year, was named an NFHCA All-American after finishing as the Division II leader with an .863 save percentage this past season. A media studies, journalism & digital arts major carrying a 3.75 cumulative GPA into the spring semester, Chisholm was also a double minor in creative writing and art.
