NE10 Spring Academic All-Conference Teams, Sport Excellence Award Winners Announced

93 NE10 Student-Athletes Earn Academic All-Conference Honors

MANSFIELD, Mass. – The Northeast-10 Conference Academic All-Conference teams and Sport Excellence Award winners for the 2017 spring season have been released, the conference office announced today.

For a full list of honorees, please see below. In total, 93 spring student-athletes collected NE10 Academic All-Conference accolades. Additionally, one Sport Excellence Award winner was chosen from the following 10 sports: baseball, men’s and women’s golf, men’s and women’s lacrosse, men’s and women’s outdoor track & field, softball, as well as men’s and women’s tennis.

To be eligible for selection to the Northeast-10 Academic All-Conference teams, a student-athlete must have met or exceeded the following minimum requirements: 1) participated in at least half of the team's competitions and been either a starter or significant contributor; 2) achieved a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale); and 3) completed at least one academic year at his/her current institution.

33 of the 93 selected were recognized for at least the second time in their careers, with 11 of those receiving their third selection during their distinguished careers.

14 of the league’s 15 member institutions had at least one Academic All-Conference choice. Eight members had at least five student-athletes appear. Adelphi and Bentley led the way with each institution having 12 student-athletes recognized, followed by Merrimack with 11, and Le Moyne with ten. 

Three programs each had four student-athletes selected for academic all-conference recognition. The Adelphi softball team, the Bentley men's golf team, and the New Haven softball team all led the way with four honorees.

Adelphi and Merrimack each had a pair of Spring Sport Excellence Award winners, while Bentley, Pace, Le Moyne, New Haven, Southern New Hampshire, and Stonehill each had one student selected for this honor. Merrimack's Carly Muscaro (women's outdoor track & field) and Alessandra Ricigliano (women's tennis) were each selected for the second time as the award winner in their respective sports.
