NE10 Champion Ravens Earn September Team of the Month

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

MANSFIELD, Mass. - Folllowing a month in which they won three tournaments overall, including their first-ever Northeast-10 Conference Championship, the Franklin Pierce Women's Golf team has been selected as the NE10 Team of the Month for September, 2017. The Ravens received 514 votes (38%) to narrowly edge out the Assumption Football team, which finished second in the voting with 491 votes (36%).

During the month, Franklin Pierce captured the Penmen Labor Day Classic, and also took home top honors at the Le Moyne Fall Invitational. They capped off their trio of tournament wins by claiming the NE10 title, earning them a bid at the NCAA National Championships later this spring.

The Ravens were selected through a vote the NE10 conducted on its social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter), in which more than 1,300 people voted - the highest in the brief history of this recognition. Franklin Pierce used an aggressive social media campaign, including a video from the team's standout Camden Morrison (below) to solicit votes.

The Adelphi men's soccer team finished third in the voting with 13% of the votes, while the Saint Anselm Field Hockey team garnered 12% of the 1,346 total votes that were cast.
