FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
MANSFIELD, Mass. - Folllowing a month in which they went 3-0 in Northeast-10 Conference play and outscored their opponents by a 164-16 margin, the Assumption Football team has been selected as the NE10 Team of the Month for October, 2017. The Hounds received 281 votes (55%) to easily defeat the other three nominees.
During the month, Assumption would defeat Saint Anselm, New Haven, and Stonehill on their way to the NE10 regular season title. The Hounds ended the regular season with a mark of 9-1 and will host California (Pa.) in an NCAA First Round game this Saturday at 1 p.m.
The Hounds were selected through a vote the NE10 conducted on its social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter), in which more than 500 people voted. Assumption was also nominated for this award in September but fell just short of the Franklin Pierce women's golf team in the voting.
