Steve Lewis was promoted to Assistant Commissioner of Strategic Communications & Operations at the Northeast-10 Conference in June of 2022. Originally hired on Sept. 10, 2018, Lewis served his first four years with the NE10 as Director of Strategic Communications & Operations. He enters his sixth season with the Conference in 2023-24. Lewis works primarily in communications and championships at the league office and assists with the development and execution of the Conference’s overall digital presence. 

Over the past five years, Lewis has helped the NE10 increase its reach on social media and NE10 NOW, the conference's digital streaming platform, while also overseeing a website redesign for northeast10.org in 2020. He serves as the media contact for 12 sports - including football, men's basketball and women's basketball - in addition to being responsible for All-Conference awards, trophy orders and the NE10's Hall of Fame process. 

Prior to the NE10, Lewis worked in Division I - first at the University of Connecticut in the athletic communications office for more than two years. During his time in Storrs, Lewis served as the primary media contact for the UConn men's soccer, field hockey, volleyball, women's ice hockey, softball, and rowing programs, as well as the secondary contact for men's basketball. He handled all SID-related duties, including press releases, feature stories, statistics, photography, social media work and alumni outreach. 

Before UConn, Lewis spent two years working in the sports publicity office at Yale University with the football, women's basketball and baseball programs. He was in charge of creating the football alumni newsletter, in addition to communications responsibilities which included team travel for all road games. 

He is a 2014 graduate of the University of Connecticut with a B.S. in Sport Management and a minor in Business Management.
