A pair of #2 seeds remain following Day Two of the 2017 Northeast-10 Conference Baseball Championship Weekend as Franklin Pierce continued to impress, while New Haven staved off elimination twice on Friday. Here's how the three games played out at New Haven's Vieria Field on Friday -

WEST HAVEN, Conn. - Early scoring and a fantastic pitching performance by Vincent Aprea helped New Haven advance in the NE10 Championship with a 6-2 win against Pace on Friday morning.
New Haven jumped out with three runs in the first and added one in the second before Pace scored in the fourth.The Chargers tallied single runs in the fifth and seventh before the Setters rounded the scoring in the eighth.
Offensively, Nick Perrelli and Andrew Garcia had two hits while Jack Zagaja drove in two runs. With the loss, Pace was eliminated from the championship.

WEST HAVEN, Conn. – Three wild pitches in the top of the seventh helped put Franklin Pierce ahead to stay on Friday afternoon, as the Northeast Division's second seed scored a 6-4 win over the division's top seed, No. 5 nationally-ranked Southern New Hampshire, on the second day of the NE10 Conference Championship, hosted by the University of New Haven.
Senior right-hander Miles Sheehan struck out three over two high-tension innings to nail down his first save of the season and send the Ravens through to the tournament's championship round.
With the win, Franklin Pierce improves to 33-13, while SNHU falls to 41-8 and sees its 16-game winning streak come to an end. Franklin Pierce advances to Saturday's championship round, and will have two chances to win one game to claim the NE10 title.

WEST HAVEN, Conn. - For the second time on Friday, New Haven baseball got a superlative pitching performance as the Chargers defeated No. 5 Southern New Hampshire 3-0. With the win, New Haven advances to the NE10 Conference Championship round where it will take on the Franklin Pierce Ravens.
Playing their second elimination game of the day, the Chargers got an outstanding start from Devon DiMascio who carried a no-hitter through six innings on his way to tossing seven shutout frames. The offense supported him early with two runs in the first and added a run in the sixth.
Offensively, Robert Petrillo had two hits and Tom Walraven scored a pair of runs.
