MANCHESTER, N.H. – The Saint Anselm baseball team recently announced the signing of Davis McCabe to its team through the Team IMPACT program, an organization that aims to improve the quality of life for children facing life-threatening and chronic illnesses through the power of team.

McCabe was introduced by head coach Barry Rosen through a press conference where he signed his letter of intent to become a member of the team before breaking out a ukulele and playing a song for the team.

"Davis has really brought the team together," said Coach Rosen. "Whenever he is with us, the whole team readily interacts with him and his family. His parents tell me that he is usually shy, but is not like that at all when he is with the team."

"It is obvious that having him as part of the team has bonded us all together that much more. Wins and losses mean nothing in comparison to the joy you can see on his face," added Rosen.

McCabe suffers from Common Variable Immune Deficiency disorder (CVID), a disorder that impairs the immune system. People with CVID are highly susceptible to infection from foreign invaders such as bacteria, or more rarely, viruses and often develop recurrent infections, particularly in the lungs, sinuses, and ears.
