MANSFIELD, Mass. – For the second-straight season, New Haven and Southern New Hampshire have been picked to finish first in their respective divisions, as the Northeast 10 Conference released its 2019 Baseball Coaches' Polls on Monday afternoon.
The Chargers topped the Southwest Division with 91 points and eight first-place votes, edging second-place Le Moyne (88 points, six votes). On the other side of the standings, the Penmen were voted first in a landslide, garnering 111 points and 13 of 15 first-place tallies – as decided upon by the league's head coaches.

SNHU had a remarkable 2018 campaign, advancing all the way to the national semifinals – matching the farthest any NE10 baseball program has ever gone in the NCAA Tournament. The Penmen went 41-17 (19-6 NE10), their third-straight 40-plus win season under head coach Scott Loiseau.
New Haven had a 39-12 (16-8 NE10) mark in 2018, falling in the NE10 championship to Merrimack before going on to win a pair of games in the NCAA East Regional in Pleasantville, N.Y. The Chargers are two years removed from their last NE10 title, which came in 2017.
Franklin Pierce (97 points) finished runner-up in voting in the Northeast Division, while Merrimack (84 points) came in third. Adelphi (69 points, one first-place vote) followed New Haven and Le Moyne in the Southwest Division.
The 2019 baseball schedule begins on Feb. 1, as Bentley travels to take on Palm Beach Atlantic, Lynn and Barry in a three-game weekend set. SNHU opens the following weekend at Cal State San Bernardino from Feb. 8-10, before most other programs begin on Feb. 15.
The NE10 Baseball Championship is scheduled to begin with first round games on Tuesday, May 7. Championship weekend is tabbed for Thursday, May 9 and Saturday, May 11 and will be hosted by the highest remaining seed from the Southwest Division following first round action.
