Embrace the Victory: Over 150 NE10 Baseball Players Competing in Summer Leagues

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Summer Leagues Concluding for NE10 Players.

MANSFIELD, Mass. – For over 150 baseball players from the Northeast 10 Conference, the summer months have been an extension of the 2019 season - as student-athletes throughout the league have competed in summer leagues all over the country, as the 2019-20 school year rapidly approaches.

All 14 member institutions had at least one baseball player participate in a collegiate summer league with a total of 154, as Assumption led the way with 22 players. Adelphi and Southern New Hampshire, the NE10 regular season champions from this past spring, tied for the second-highest participation rate with 20 players each.

With most leagues beginning in late May and ending in early August, just a handful of games remain in the summer season. NE10 baseball players continue to make an impact in some of the more high-profile leagues – such as the Cape Cod League, New England Collegiate Baseball League and Futures Collegiate Baseball League.

Several NE10 teams had players earn All-Star status in their respective summer leagues, including five from Pace and four from Bentley. Most notably, the Falcons' Max Troiani was named an All-Star in the Cape Cod League for the Orleans Firebirds. As of Tuesday, he is hitting .333 at the plate, good for the fifth-best average in the league.

New Haven's Matt Chamberlain has enjoyed an excellent summer, earning All-Star honors for the Martha's Vineyard Sharks in the NECBL (.297 BA, top 10 in RBI). Le Moyne's Jacob Maser, an All-Star in the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League, currently ranks in the top five in ERA (3.12) in 40+ innings of work.

NE10 players are competing in 28 different summer leagues, with the most representation in the FCBL (25 players) and NECBL (25 players). Third-most was the Hamptons Collegiate Baseball League with 13 players.
