Edmondson comes back to Saint Anselm after stint as assistant coach at UMass Lowell.
MANCHESTER, N.H. – Saint Anselm College has tabbed alumnus Jerod Edmondson '06 to pilot the Hawks baseball team.
Edmondson returns to the Hilltop from UMass Lowell where he was an Assistant Coach for the baseball program under former Saint Anselm head coach Ken Harring. With the River Hawks, Edmondson served as the team's hitting coach and recruiting coordinator.
During his time with the River Hawks (2007-09, 2016-19), he was responsible for many aspects of the NCAA Division I program, including the scheduling and planning of practices and training, team meals, scouting reports, recruiting and fundraising.

"He understands what it takes to compete, both athletically and academically, as a student-athlete on the Hilltop. His extensive playing and coaching background will be beneficial to the program moving forward."
Prior to UMass Lowell, Edmondson was an assistant coach at Framingham State University and was promoted to Interim Head Coach in 2014. While with the Rams, Edmondson managed a roster of 25 student-athletes and was responsible for both strength and conditioning and all recruiting duties.

"I am excited for the opportunity to lead the baseball program and get to work in the coming days, months and years. Hawks baseball has meant a lot to me and my career in the sport and I am eager to give back to my alma mater and its student-athletes."
As a professional, Edmondson competed in the Canadian American Association of Professional Baseball from 2007 through 2014. He is tied for the league record with 166 doubles and ranks second all-time in league history with 751 hits and 445 runs scored. He also ranks third all-time with 398 runs batted in and fifth in career stolen bases with 125.
The league-leader in batting average (.332) in 2009, Edmondson was a two-time All-Star pick (2009, 2011) and is the Can-Am League all-time record holder with 411 at-bats in one season, accomplished with Worcester in 2012. During his career, he also served as his teams' Hitting Coach while a member of the active roster.
A four-year standout on the Saint Anselm baseball team, Edmondson was a part of the winningest class of student-athletes in Saint Anselm history. Helping the Hawks to their first-ever ECAC Division II Championship in 2003, Edmondson and the Hawks would win 95 games across his four-year career.
Edmondson was a four-year member of the Saint Anselm baseball program and later competed for UMass Lowell during graduate school. Between both stops, Edmondson batted .332, notching over 250 career hits in 203 career contests. Edmondson played for Harring at Saint Anselm from 2003-04 and later did so as a graduate student at UMass Lowell in 2007.
He was also a four-time All-Conference selection by the Northeast-10 Conference. As a freshman, he picked up Third Team honors alongside two Second Team nods (2004, 2007). In his final season on the Hilltop, Edmondson was a First Team All-NE10 pick after batting .371 with 63 hits, 31 runs batted in and 20 stolen bases.
On the Hilltop, Edmondson ranks second all-time with 11 triples, fourth in stolen bases (39), fifth in hits (184) and seventh with a career batting average of .330. He is one of only six student-athletes in team history with 100 or more runs scored in a career and stands as the all-time leader with 1,317 defensive putouts.
The recipient of All-New England honors from the ABCA and Daktronics in 2006, Edmondson capped a standout Hawks career with an appearance at the New England Intercollegiate Baseball Coaches' Association Division II/III All-Star Game played at Fenway Park.
Edmonson is married to the former Haley Wojtasinski '06, a four-year member of the Hawks softball program. The Edmondsons have three children, Caden (6), Paige (3) and Blake (four months).
