NE10 Player of the Week
Andrew Bianco, New Haven
Junior | Infield/Outfield | Kings Park, N.Y.
Bianco hit .467/.500/1.267 in a 2-2 week for New Haven. He was 7-of-15 at the plate with three home runs, seven RBI and six runs scored. He had a pair of three-hit games in the Chargers' series split with Saint Rose.
NE10 Pitcher of the Week
Luke Marshall, Stonehill
Senior | Pitcher | Swampscott, Mass.
Marshall struck out a career-high 12 batters in seven innings of work in Friday's 8-2 win over Saint Anselm. During his dominant performance, there was a stretch where he retired 11 straight batters from the third through the seventh inning. Out of those 11 batters, Marshall retired eight of them via strikeouts including a point in the fifth where he struck out the side.
NE10 Rookie of the Week
Mason Baronian, Pace
Freshman | Infield | River Vale, N.J.
Baronian was red hot during a 3-1 stretch for the Setters last week. The freshman batted a team-high .583 with seven RBIs and seven runs scored. He also walked four times to finish with an on-base percentage of .667. Baronian launched his second career home run in a mid-week win over Mercy College.
NE10 Weekly Honor Roll
Michael Draskin, Adelphi (Jr., IF - Huntington, N.Y.)
Draskin hit .600 (6-of-10) to help Adelphi win three games against Le Moyne, including three RBI and two runs scored. He was 4-for-5 in an 11-3 win over the Dolphins, including three doubles.
Jared Berardino, Assumption (So., OF - Rowley, Mass.)
Berardino helped Assumption win three of its four games against Saint Michael's over the weekend by registering at least one hit and one RBI in each contest. He most notably went 2-for-5 with a double, home run, and five runs batted in in a 12-3 victory to begin the series and also had the walk-off hit in the team's 9-8 victory in nine innings of a seven-inning scheduled game. Berardino drove in 10 runs over the weekend, and four of his seven hits were for extra bases. He also batted .438 with a .500 on-base percentage along with an .813 slugging mark.
Jack Choate, Assumption (Jr., P - North Grafton, Mass.)
Choate threw his fourth complete game and second shutout of the season in Assumption's 4-0 win over Saint Michael's on Saturday. He allowed just three hits, struck out nine, and issued three walks while throwing 76 of his 116 pitches for strikes. Choate ended the weekend with a 2.61 earned run average as well as 94 strikeouts in 51.2 innings of work.
Cory Bright, Bentley (Jr., IF - Melrose, Mass.)
During a 3-2 week, Bright hit .528 with 10 hits, seven runs scored, two doubles and five RBI. His slugging percentage was .632 and he had a .571 on base percentage. He was 5-for-5 with three RBI, two RBI and two doubles in a 23-6 win at St. Michael's and 3-for-5 with two runs and an RBI in a 12-8 win over Pace. He also gave the Falcons an inning of relief work out of the bullpen.
Charles Lebron, Franklin Pierce (Gr., OF - Brooklyn, N.Y.)
Hit .462/.500/1.154, for a 1.654 OPS, while playing in five of the week's six games. Hit 6-for-13 with three home runs and a walk, scored three times and drove in three. Went 3-for-4 with a solo home run in the first game of Wednesday's doubleheader at Saint Rose. Went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in the second game of Saturday's doubleheader against SNHU, and did the same in Sunday's game against SNHU.
Zach Brush, Le Moyne (Jr., IF - New York Mills, N.Y.)
Brush slashed .550/.609/.600 with 11 hits, three RBI and three runs scored in Le Moyne's 2-3 week. He posted a hit, a run and a stolen base in a 5-4 win over American International on Wednesday. After going 3-for-4 with a double and a run scored in a 3-2 setback to Adelphi in the first game on Sunday, he went 3-for-6 with an RBI and a run scored in a 9-6 victory over the Panthers in the nightcap.
Randall Alejo, Saint Rose (So, P - Patchogue, N.Y.)
Alejo scattered three hits and fanned seven, without issuing a walk, over the 7.0 inning distance to pick up the 1-0 win in Sunday's first game at New Haven.
Andrew Eng, Southern Conn. St. (Sr, OF - Ridgewood, N.J.)
Eng led the Owls offense against AIC that took three of four from the Yellow Jackets and scored double-digit runs in three consecutive games. He tied for the team lead in hits with seven and had the highest average at .467, on base percentage at .571, and slugging percentage at .600. He also walked four times and stole three bases, including two on May 1 that saw the Owls steal a program record nine bases in a 16-8 win. In 21 plate appearances, he did not strike out once.
Dakota Mulcay, Southern N.H. (Sr., C - Goffstown, N.H.)
Mulcay hit .316 at the plate in a 5-1 week for the Penmen, including two home runs, 10 RBI and five runs scored. His slash line of .316/.500/.737 led SNHU to non-conference wins against Bridgeport and STAC, as well as winning three of four games on the road at Franklin Pierce. He had two games this week - one against Bridgeport and one against Franklin Pierce - with one homer and four RBI.
Matt Farragher, Stonehill (Sr., IF - Mansfield, Mass.)
Farragher had an impressive week for Stonehill slashing an incredible .538 (7-12), had an on-base percentage above .600 (.688), and slugged at 1.000. His strongest game was in the series opener at Saint Anselm when the senior posted three hits which included a double and home run. Farragher also had a multi-hit game in the series finale Sunday when he posted two hits one of which was another double.
