NE10 Player of the Week

Liam Sears, Bentley
Graduate Student | Designated Hitter | Springfield, Mass.

In a doubleheader sweep of St. Michael's, Sears drove in seven runs, scored three times and had a .714/.600/1.429 slash line. His five hits included two doubles and a homer, and he also had two sacrifice flies. In a come-from-behind 16-9 win in game one, he drove in four with two hits and sacrifice flies. He followed that performance with a 3-for-3 with three runs scored, three RBI, a double and homer in a 7-3 game two win. Sears is hitting .444 and slugging .556 with eight RBI and nine runs scored.


NE10 Pitcher of the Week

Kyle Roche, Franklin Pierce
Junior | Pitcher | Braintree, Mass.

Roche took the mound in one matchup this past weekend, where he tossed seven innings with no runs allowed on five hits surrendered against Post University, earning the victory. In the effort, Roche struck out nine total batters for the second time this season, setting himself up with an average of 11.57 strikeouts per nine innings this past weekend.


NE10 Rookie of the Week

Owen Pincince, New Haven
Freshman | Outfielder/Pitcher | North Haven, Conn.

Pincince had a big weekend at the plate for New Haven, going 7-for-13 (.538) with one home run, five RBI, four runs scored and one walk. He posted a slash line of .538/.533/.769 in the Chargers' four-game sweep of Bridgeport. In the second game of the series, Pincince was 3-for-3 with a home run, two RBI and two runs scored. 


NE10 Weekly Honor Roll

Alec Maag, Adelphi (Sr., C - Center Moriches, N.Y.)
In taking two out of three this weekend from No. 19 Molloy, Maag led all Panthers with a .500 batting average, to go along with an .875 slugging and .636 on-base percentage. Maag walked twice, scored three runs, collected three doubles and drove in a pair of RBIs against some of the region's elite starting pitching from Molloy. 

Michael Cruz, American Int'l (Sr., Outfield - Chicopee, Mass.)
Cruz had a big day at the dish in a sweep of Alliance, going 4-for-7 and driving in four while scoring three times himself. He also swiped four bases in the two games.

Jared Berardino, Assumption (Jr., OF - Rowley, Mass.)
Berardino batted .417 in three games this week, as he went 5-for-12 at the plate with four RBI. 

Jose Savinon, Franklin Pierce (So., INF - Brooklyn, N.Y.)
Through four games this past weekend versus Post, Savinon totaled 4 RBI on five hits, including a home run, through 15 at bats. The totals averaged out to a .333 batting average, as well as a matching (.333) on-base percentage, and a .533 slug percentage. From the field, Savinon locked up 28 total put outs for a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage.

Dewey Roden, Le Moyne (Sr., 1B - Sherrill, N.Y.)
Roden slashed .438/.471/.875 with two home runs, 10 RBI and three runs scored in Le Moyne's 1-3 weekend at Shippensburg. He homered and drove in three runs in a 9-5 win over the Raiders in the first game of the series on Saturday. In Saturday's nightcap, he went 4-for-5 with another home run, four RBI and two runs scored in a 12-11 setback. He knocked in two runs in a 4-3 loss in Sunday's first game and then doubled and drove in a run in Sunday's nightcap.

Andrew Bianco, New Haven (Sr., 1B/OF - Kings Park, N.Y.)
Bianco was 7-for-18 (.389) at the plate for New Haven in a four-game sweep of Bridgeport. He logged at least one hit in all four games, including a three-hit performance in the series finale. He had four extra-base hits, including a home run, triple and two doubles, along with six RBI and four runs scored. 

Izaiya Mestre, New Haven (Gr., P - Pittsfield, Mass.)
Mestre pitched 5.2 scoreless innings in a win over Bridgeport. He allowed just two hits, struck out four and did not give up a walk in a strong outing for the Chargers, as part of their four-game sweep against Bridgeport. 

John Donovan, Saint Anselm (Sr., P - Lowell, Mass.)
In Donovan's lone appearance of the week, the senior came on in relief posting 3.2 innings pitched of one hit baseball while walking one and fanning three. Donovan earned the win for the Hawks, who downed Dominican (N.Y.) by a 5-4 score from the USA Baseball Training Complex in Cary, N.C. The senior limited opponents to a .111 batting average in his appearance.

Vince Venditti, Saint Rose (So., INF - Burnt Hills, N.Y.)
Venditti recorded five RBI and scored three runs while sporting .467/.529/.667 clips this week, as he helped the Golden Knights go 2-2 in the Wilson Tobs Tournament in Wilson, N.C. Venditti's best play game in Saturday's 15-4 win over Kutztown, where he finished 3-for-5 with a double, a triple, and four RBI.

Andrew Eng, Southern Conn. St. (Sr., OF -Ridgewood, N.J.)
In a doubleheader sweep against Mercy, Andrew Eng batted .500 (3-for-6) with a .667 on-base percentage, four runs scored, three RBI and a pair of doubles.
