NE10 Player of the Week
Jake Risedorf, Southern New Hampshire
Sophomore | Utility | Barkhamsted, Conn.
Risedorf went 5-for-8 (.625) with an RBI, two runs scored and a walk, as SNHU swept Southern Connecticut in Friday's doubleheader - the only games of the week for the Penmen. Risedorf slashed .667/.625/1.292, as he went 2-for-4 with a walk and knocked in a run in a 2-1, 11-inning game-one victory, and then was 3-for-4 with a pair of runs scored in a 7-0 win in game two. Risedorf and also picked up the win in game one, as he struck out three over two innings of relief.
NE10 Pitcher of the Week
Michael Gatti, New Haven
Sophomore | Pitcher | East Norwich, N.Y.
In his fifth start of the season, Gatti put on a clinic on the bump registering 16 strikeouts across a complete-game seven-inning victory over Saint Anselm. Overall for the game, Gatti surrendered two runs, one of which was earned, while giving up a single hit to the Hawks and walking one batter. The 16 K's are the most since 2022 when Liam Carroll struck out 13 batters against Adelphi. With limited records available prior to 2007, the only known record for strikeouts came in 1969 when John Krawiecki struck out 18 batters against Rutgers.
NE10 Rookie of the Week
Joseph Frazzetta, New Haven
Freshman | Third Base | Howard Beach, N.Y.
The Chargers everyday third baseman, Frazzetta finished a three-game week hitting .333 at the plate, going a combined 3-of-9 with four RBI and three walks. Among his three hits was one for extra bases which came in the first game of the week against crosstown rival Southern Connecticut.
NE10 Weekly Honor Roll
Joe Pellegrino, Adelphi (Sr., IF - Commack, N.Y.)
In Adelphi's only action of the week since both weekend doubleheaders were postponed due to rain, Pellegrino went deep twice and drove in five RBIs in an 8-3 win at Bridgeport. It was the third two-homer game of his career -- all of which have coincidentally come on the road.
Kiernan Caffrey, American Int'l (Jr., OF - South Windsor, Conn.)
Caffrey had a strong weekend at the dish in three conference games, going 6-for-13 with a double and a walk-off solo home run in the bottom of the 10th inning of game one of a doubleheader against Assumption.
Justin Ray, Assumption (Gr., RHP - Portland, Me.)
Ray was tagged with a no-decision but was stellar on the mound. He pitched 6.0 innings with seven strikeouts but allowed two hits and one earned run.
Steve Rizzuto, Bentley (Gr., IF - Belmont, Mass.)
Rizzuto drove in three runs during Bentley's win at AIC. He ranks third in the NE10 for RBI (23).
Kyle Roche, Franklin Pierce (Sr., RHP - Braintree, Mass.)
Roche had another solid week for the Ravens highlighted in Saturday's matchup against Pace. At the mound, Roche pitched eight innings and recorded 10 strikeouts. Only letting up five hits and two runs, Roche helped get the Ravens the win Saturday as the teams split the doubleheader in Pleasantville.
Brendan McCann, Pace (So., P - Plainview, N.Y.)
McCann tossed a complete game shutout Sunday afternoon going seven innings with five strikeouts allowing just three hits. Throughout three appearances, McCann never allowed a run in nine total innings on the mound and totaled seven strikeouts giving up only four hits.
Matthew Rinaldi, Pace (Sr., OF - Scarsdale, N.Y.)
Rinaldi continues to produce at the top of the lineup for Pace. The graduate student batted .421 in the week with a team-high eight base knocks, five of which were extra-base hits. His three-run homer run Sunday helped Pace secure the victory over Saint Michael's as he went 5-for-8 in the doubleheader.
Nolan Elmore, Saint Anselm (Sr., C - Brentwood, N.H.)
Elmore went 2-for-4 at the plate with an RBI and one run to help Saint Anselm defeat New Haven in game one on Saturday. He also recorded a two-RBI double in game two to end the day with three RBI with a .429 batting average. Elmore leads the team with a .345 batting average, good for 13th overall in the league, as well as on-base percentage (.429) and slugging percentage (.564).
Austin Trumpour, Southern N.H. (So., P - Jensen Beach, Fla.)
Trumpour appeared in both games of Friday's doubleheader sweep at Southern Connecticut, collecting a win and a save, while hurling six scoreless innings, striking out eight and not walking a batter. Trumpour struck out two and worked around a hit in a scoreless 11th inning, as he earned the save in a 2-1 victory in the opener. He then started game two and fired five shutout frames, allowing three hits, while punching out six in the 7-0 victory.
