Ivey Represents NE10 Football as CoSIDA Academic All-American.

MANSFIELD, Mass. – On Tuesday, Stonehill football's Derek Ivey was named a First Team Academic All-American by the College Sports Information Directors of America, becoming just the third student-athlete in school history to be recognized as a First Team selection and the first since 2000.

Ivey represented the Northeast-10 Conference with his superb performance on the gridiron and in the classroom, earning a 3.91 GPA as an economics major and helping to lead a stout offensive line for the Skyhawks all season long.

Just the third Academic All-American in the history of Stonehill's football program, Ivey played in all 10 games this season – clearing the way for teammate Justin Felder to run for over 1,500 yards on his way to being named NE10 Most Valuable Player and AFCA Second Team All-American.

The Skyhawks ran for an average of 193.7 yards per game this season, second-most in the NE10, while tying Pace for a league-best 4.9 yards per carry. With Ivey in the trenches, Stonehill scored 31.9 points per game this season, third-most behind Assumption (34.3) and Bentley (32.7).

The 25 CoSIDA Academic All-America First Team members hold a composite 3.85 GPA, with eight honorees holding a 3.95 or better cumulative GPA. Ivey joins an elite list, as he is the first Skyhawk to become a First Team selection since women's basketball player Julie Stockwell accomplished the feat 19 years ago.
