Assumption and Stonehill Earn Four Selections to Lead NE10 Programs.


MANSFIELD, Mass. – New Haven's Ju'An Williams was named Special Teams Player of the Year and a First Team selection when the Don Hansen Football Gazette All-Region Committee released its NCAA Division II All-Super Region I team on Monday.

Seven different football programs from the Northeast-10 Conference were represented on the All-Super Region I team, with Assumption and Stonehill recording a league-best four selections each.

NE10 football had 16 student-athletes recognized, with five First Team players - who are now eligible for the national ballot from which the Don Hansen NCAA Division II All-America team will be named this month.

Williams, who served as a dynamic return specialist for the Chargers, averaged 18.92 yards per punt return this season – fifth-most in all of Division II. He also recorded 25.24 yards per kick return in 17 chances, helping New Haven to a 7-3 overall record – including a 6-2 mark in conference play.  

Joining Williams on the First Team was Stonehill's Justin Felder, Assumption's Quentin Hall, AIC's Isiah Tolbert and Saint Anselm's CJ Miller. Felder was the MVP of the NE10 this season, while Hall and Tolbert were the Offensive and Defensive Lineman of the Year, respectively. Miller was the NE10 Defensive Player of the Year.

Three of the five players – Felder, Hall and Miller – were named American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) All-Americans at the conclusion of the season. Miller went on to being named a Division II Conference Commissioner's Association (D2CCA) All-American as well, becoming the first Hawks' athlete to earn such honors from both organizations.
