Saint Anselm Earns Top Seed for NE-10 Field Hockey Championship

FIELD HOCKEY CHAMPIONSHIP CENTRAL

MANSFIELD, Mass. - Saint Anselm has earned the top seed in the upcoming Northeast-10 ConferenceField Hockey Championship, which begins with first-round games on Tuesday, November 1.

Semifinal games are slated for Friday, Nov. 4. while the championship will take place next Sunday, Nov. 6

The 2016 Northeast-10 Championship Game and will be broadcast live on Northeast10.tv at 1 p.m. Follow @TheNortheast10 on Twitter to keep up with all the NE-10 Championship action.

2016 NE-10 Field Hockey Championship Seeds
1. Saint Anselm (10-2)
2. LIU Post (9-3) ^
3. Stonehill (9-3) ^
4. Adelphi (9-3) ^
5. Merrimack (8-4)
6. Assumption (7-5)         

^ In the three-way tie between LIU Post, Adelphi and Stonehill, all three schools had a 1-1 record within the mini-conference.  In moving to comparison of each team’s record versus the team occupying the highest position of the standings, LIU Post earned the #2 seed based on a win vs. Saint Anselm (both Stonehill and Adelphi lost to Saint Anselm).  Stonehill earned the #3 seed based on a head-to-head win over Adelphi.

2016 NE-10 Field Hockey Championship Schedule

Tuesday, November 1st     
First Round ­

Game 1:  #6 Assumption at #3 Stonehill (7:00 PM)
Game 2:  #5 Merrimack at #4 Adelphi (4:00 PM) 

Friday, November 4th     
Semifinals ­

Game 3:  Game 2 winner at #1 Saint Anselm (4:00 PM)
Game 4:  Game 1 winner at #2 LIU Post (TBD)

Sunday, November 6th     
Championship Final (to be held at highest remaining seed) ­

Game 5:  Game 3 winner vs. Game 4 winner

*Please note that the championship game time shall be 1:00 PM
