Embrace The Championship: Saint Anselm Tabbed Top Seed for NE10 Field Hockey Championship

MANSFIELD, Mass. - Saint Anselm has earned the top seed for the second consecutive season in the upcoming Northeast-10 Conference Field Hockey Championship. This year's Field Hockey Championship event will begin with First Round action on Tuesday, October 31. 

The defending regular-season champion Hawks posted an 11-1 mark in conference play to earn the top seed. They will begin tournament play as they will host a Semifinal Round matchup Friday, November 3 at 6 p.m.

Semifinal games are slated for Friday, Nov. 3. while the championship will take place next Sunday, Nov. 5. The 2017 NE10 Championship Game and will be broadcast live on Northeast10.tv at 1 p.m. Follow @TheNortheast10 on Twitter to keep up with all the NE-10 Championship action.

2017 NE10 Field Hockey Championship Seeds

1. Saint Anselm (11-1)
2. Stonehill (10-2)
3. Pace (9-3) ^
4. LIU Post (9-3) ^
5. Merrimack (7-5) ^^
6. Assumption (7-5) ^^       

^ Pace earns the #3 seed based on their head-to-head win over LIU Post during the regular season.

^^ There was a three-way tie between Merrimack, Assumption and Franklin Pierce – all three schools had a 1-1 record within the mini-conference.  In moving to comparison of each team’s record versus the team occupying the highest position of the standings, Merrimack earned the #5 seed based on a win vs. Saint Anselm (Assumption and Franklin Pierce lost to Saint Anselm).  Assumption earned the #6 seed based on a head-to-head win over Franklin Pierce.

First Round ­
Game 1:  #6 Assumption at #3 Pace | 4:00 PM
Game 2:  #5 Merrimack at #4 LIU Post | 1:00 PM

Friday, November 3      

Semifinals ­
Game 3:  Game 2 winner at #1 Saint Anselm | 6:00 PM
Game 4:  Game 1 winner at #2 Stonehill | 6:00 PM

Sunday, November 5

Championship (to be held at highest remaining seed) ­
Game 5:  Game 3 winner vs. Game 4 winner
