Saint Anselm Picked First in NE10 Field Hockey Coaches’ Poll

Hawks Earn Six First Place Votes To Top Poll


Mansfield, Mass. – Following an appearance last year in the NE10 Championship game and the NCAA Tournament, Saint Anselm was selected first in the 2019 NE10 Field Hockey Coaches' Poll. The Hawks totaled 186 points while collecting six first place votes. 

Saint Anselm went 15-7 in 2018 while reaching the NE10 Title game for the second time in the past three years to claim the top spot in the poll. Pace, the defending NE10 Regular Season Champion and NCAA Semifinalist, earned seven first place votes and 178 points overall to place second in the poll. The Setters were a perfect 13-0 in the NE10 during the 2018 regular season. 

Stonehill took third with 157 points, while Assumption was fourth by totaling 153 points. The Hounds did receive one first place vote after reaching the NE10 Semifinals last season. Southern New Hampshire was fifth with 151 points while Bentley (143), Adelphi (127) and Franklin Pierce (96) rounded out the top eight, with the Panthers earning a first place vote. Seven teams, including Saint Anselm and Pace open the 2019 season on Thursday, Sept. 5. The regular season concludes on Saturday, Nov. 2, with NE10 Quarterfinal action set to take place on Tuesday, Nov. 5. An NE10 Champion will be crowned on Sunday, Nov. 10 at the highest remaining seed.
