Merrimack Leads after First Day of NE-10 Women’s Golf Championship

Ricigliano, Merrimack Lead after Opening Round

DAY 1 RESULTS

SANDS POINT, N.Y. – After the first day of the Northeast-10 Women’s Golf Championship, the Merrimack Warriors sit atop the leaderboard with a 319 team score on the par 73 course at the Village Club of Sands Point. Merrimack’s Alessandra Ricigliano was the individual leader after day one with a 74, just one stroke over par. 

The Warriors were 36 strokes ahead of second-place Franklin Pierce. The Ravens posted a 355 team score, while Le Moyne was only one stroke behind in third with a 356. Southern New Hampshire currently sits in fourth with a 365, and fifth-place Assumption posted a team score of 416.

Merrimack’s four top golfers are currently sitting in the top 7. Freshman Krystal Knight, a three-time NE-10 Rookie of the Week selection, was second after the first day with a 78.

Adelphi’s Lucy Stevens was one stroke behind Knight for third with a 79. Franklin Pierce’s Camden Morrison and Merrimack’s Jaclyn Drew were tied for fourth, both posting an 82. Assumption’s Alyssa Ruggieri had a hole-in-one on the fifth hole, a par 3.

The final day of the Northeast-10 Championship begins tomorrow with the first tee time set for 11 a.m.
