Merrimack Claims Second Straight NE-10 Women’s Golf Title

Ricigliano Wins Individual Crown for Champion Warriors

SANDS POINT, N.Y. – For the second straight year, the Merrimack Warriors have won the Northeast-10 Women's Golf Championship. The individual champion also came from Merrimack for the second year in a row, as Alessandra Ricigliano earned Medalist honors. 

The Warriors cruised to victory by posting a 638 team score, putting up identical scores of 319 in both the first and second rounds, while finishing 51 strokes ahead of the next team.

Franklin Pierce was the runner-up with a team score of 689, posting a 334 on Day 2, which was 21 strokes better than its opening round score. Le Moyne finished third with a team score of 708, followed by Southern New Hampshire in fourth (727) and Assumption in fifth (828).

Ricigliano set an NE-10 record for lowest round score (74 on Day 1) and overall score, shooting a 152 over the two-day event. Fellow Warrior Krystal Knight earned Outstanding Rookie of the Championship honors, finishing second overall with a score of 153.

Franklin Pierce's Camden Morrison finished in third with a 159, while teammate Anna Haynes (164) also finished in the top-5. Merrimack's Jessica Wagner, the individual champion back in the inaugural championship in the spring, came in fourth with a 163 overall score.

This year's tournament, hosted by Adelphi at the Village Club of Sands Point, marked the second-ever NE-10 Women's Golf Championship. The Northeast-10 Conference added women's golf as its 24th league sport in 2014.
