Dolphins Chosen to win NE-10 Championship

CHAMPIONSHIP CENTRAL

MANSFIELD, Mass. – Le Moyne was picked to win the Northeast-10 Championship by the league’s coaches, as the NE-10 Men’s Golf Coaches’ Poll was released on Thursday. The Dolphins collected nine of the 10 first-place votes while gathering 81 points in total. 

The 2015 Northeast-10 Men’s Golf Championship will run from this Sunday, October 4 through Monday, Oct. 5 at En-Joie Golf Club in Endicott, N.Y., hosted by Le Moyne.

Southern New Hampshire claimed the one remaining first-place vote, garnering 69 points overall. Reigning NE-10 Champions Bentley was just two points behind in third, collecting 67 points in total.

Franklin Pierce came in at No. 4 with a total of 51 points, followed immediately by Assumption in fifth with 50 total points. Coming in at No. 6 was Assumption with 50 points, while American International was seventh with 27 points. Rounding out the 10-team field was Adelphi (8th – 25 pts.), Saint Anselm (9th – 22) and Saint Michael’s (10th – 14).

Bentley claimed the 2014 NE-10 Championship by putting together an overall team score of 593. The Falcons were led by Malcolm Oliver, who returns this season after finishing third individually at last year’s tournament. Southern New Hampshire’s Jake Nutter will look to defend his Medalist honor as the top finisher in 2014.

Le Moyne was the 2014 runner-up at the conference championship, posting a 606 team score. The Dolphins were the only NE-10 team to advance out of the NCAA Atlantic/East Regional and on to the NCAA Championships this past spring.

The first tee time for Sunday is scheduled for 12:15 p.m. The final round on Monday will begin at 9 a.m. with a shotgun start.
