Penmen Begin Title Defense as Northeast Division's Top Seed

MANSFIELD, Mass. – Le Moyne and Southern New Hampshire have earned the top seeds in the 2017 Northeast-10 Men's Basketball Championship, it was announced by the conference office on Tuesday night.

Le Moyne claimed the Southwest Division crown after posting a 21-5 overall record and a 16-4 mark in conference play. The Dolphins have won seven straight games and have earned a bye into the quarterfinals, where they await the winner of the first-round matchup between No. 4 NE Merrimack and No. 5 SW New Haven.
So. New Hampshire won the Northeast Division title after going 19-7 overall and 15-6 in NE10 play this season. The defending-champion Penmen earn a first-round bye and will host the winner of Friday night's opening-round contest between No. 4 SW Adelphi and No. 5 NE Bentley.
The semifinal round will take place on Wednesday, March 1, with higher seeds hosting. The 2017 NE10 Championship Game will be played on Saturday, March 4, and will be hosted by the highest remaining seed.
The conference office will also release its major award winners and All-Conference selections on Thursday, February 23.
