Bentley's Leritz, Adelphi's Silva Earn CSC Academic All-America Honors.


MANSFIELD, Mass. - Bentley graduate forward Matt Leritz and Adelphi graduate guard Ronnie Silva have been named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-America teams, following their outstanding performances on the court and in the classroom this season. Leritz and Silva represented the Northeast-10 Conference when CSC made the official announcement on Tuesday. 

Both players are multi-time selections to the CSC Academic All-America Team. Leritz was a Second Team honoree at the Division II level for the first time in his playing career (previously at Division III), while Silva earned Third Team recognition for the third-straight season. Leritz is working toward his MBA with a 3.85 GPA, while Silva has earned a 4.0 GPA in his Sport Management master's program. 

Leritz and Silva are two of only six players in Division II to earn repeat selections to the Academic All-America Team. 

On the court this season, Leritz was second among NE10 players in rebounding (9.1 per game) and Silva ranked eighth in scoring (15.4 points per game). Leritz helped lead Bentley to the NCAA Division II East Region Championship game for the second-straight season, while Silva became the all-time leading scorer in Adelphi program history (2,048 points). 

The Division II Academic All-America® program is being financially supported by the NCAA Division II national governance structure to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2022-23 Division II Academic All-America® program.
 
The Division II Academic All-America First Team members have an average GPA of 3.88, with all three men's teams holding a collective average GPA of 3.85.
