Le Moyne's Tyler Birdd and SNHU's Evan Rollins Shoot League-Best 143.

ENDICOTT, N.Y. – Southern New Hampshire shot a 591 (+15) as a team over the two rounds of the 2022 NE10 Men's Golf Championship on Sunday at the En-Joie Golf Club in Endicott. The Penmen will hold a two-stroke lead heading into the second day of the Championship on Monday.

SNHU secured three of the top-10 spots after the first two rounds and are led by freshman Evan Rollins (73, 70) who is tied for first place with Le Moyne's Tyler Birdd (69, 74) with a score of 143. Le Moyne (+17) is only two strokes behind the Penmen and defending champion and pre-championship poll favorite, Assumption (+20), sits three strokes behind the Dolphins in third.

Birdd recorded the best round of the day by shooting a 69 (-3) on the first 18 and will look to bring the Gordon McCullough Memorial Award for individual medalist honors back into the Dolphins' program after teammate Nicholas Bove won it in the Spring of 2021.

In addition to leading the Championship after Day 1, SNHU led all NE10 programs with a total of 22 birdies and two eagles at the conclusion of the second round. Rollins and teammate Jared Liss sank two of the four eagles, while Michael Sosik of Franklin Pierce and Aissa El-Khardi of New Haven each had one birdie apiece over the 36 holes.

Seven different programs are represented in the top-10 leaderboard, and all 10 golfers are within six strokes of one another with ties for first (-1, 143), sixth (+4, 148) and eighth (+5, 149).

Day 2 of the NE10 Men's Golf Championship, hosted by Le Moyne, is scheduled for a 9 a.m. shotgun start on Monday. Southern New Hampshire will look to secure its first league title since 2018 in a close race with Le Moyne, while the rest of the field will look to close in during the final 18 holes tomorrow.
