Hawks Picked to Repeat as NE-10 Champions
MANSFIELD, Mass. – The defending Northeast-10 Champion Saint Anselm Hawks were selected as the preseason favorites by the league's head coaches, as the NE-10 Ice Hockey Coaches' Poll was released by the conference office on Wednesday.
Saint Anselm garnered 25 total points and five first-place votes to secure the top spot in the preseason poll. The Hawks defeated Saint Michael's, 6-3, in the NE-10 Championship back in February to claim their ninth NE-10 title and fifth in the last six seasons.

The Purple Knights, last season's runner-up, came in at No. 2 with 19 points and the lone other first-place vote. Just behind Saint Michael's was Stonehill at No. 3 with 17 total points. The Skyhawks and Purple Knights finished the 2014-15 regular season tied atop the NE-10 standings with eight points apiece.
Southern New Hampshire came in right behind the Skyhawks at No. 4 with a total of 15 points. Assumption collected nine points for fifth, while Franklin Pierce rounded out the six-team NE-10 field.
The Northeast-10 Championship will begin with semifinal games on Saturday, Feb. 20. The 2016 NE-10 Championship Game is scheduled to be played a week later on Saturday, Feb. 27.
