Merrimack Picked by NE10 Coaches to Take NE10 Men's Lacrosse Title this Spring

Warriors Picked as Preseason Favorite in NE10 Coaches' Poll

MANSFIELD, Mass. – Merrimack has been selected as the top team in the Northeast-10 Conference Men's Lacrosse Preseason Coaches' Poll, it was announced by the conference office this morning. The defending national finalists received 119 points overall and nine out of a possible twelve first place votes to take the top spot.

The 2018 regular season is slated to begin a week from this coming Saturday, February 18. The NE10 Championship is scheduled to begin with Quarterfinal Round contests on Tuesday, May 1, followed by the Semifinals on Friday, May 4. The NE10 Championship Game is set for Sunday, May 6.

Merrimack garnered 119 points overall from the league's coaches, seven more than second-place selection Le Moyne. The Dolphins won their NE10-best 13th NE10 title a year ago. Le Moyne received 112 points and two first place selections, while Adelphi received 99 points overall. The Panthers also received the other first place selection.

The three schools at the top of the NE10 coaches' poll open the season ranked 2nd, 3rd, and 4th respectively in the USILA Coaches' Poll as well. Pace is ranked 5th nationally, and the Setters received 94 points in the NE10 Coaches' Poll.
