Two Dolphins Earn Major Awards as 'Phins Complete Perfect Regular Season

MANSFIELD, Mass. – Le Moyne senior Justin Kesselring was named the 2018 Northeast-10 Conference Men's Lacrosse Player of the Year as the league announced it's major awards and all-conference teams today. For a complete list of those honored, as voted upon by the league's head coaches, please see below.

Le Moyne led the way with seven student-athletes honored, including five first team selections, while Merrimack was second with six. The Warriors had four first team honorees.

Kesselring helped lead the Dolphins to a perfect regular season as they enter NE10 Championship play with a mark of 15-0 overall, including 11-0 in league play. The senior led a Le Moyne offense that was among the best in the nation, as he is currently second in the league in points (61), third in goals (29), and fifth in assists (22). He was also named a First Team All-Conference selection for the second consecutive year.

Kesselring's teammate, Zac Prattson, was tabbed NE10 Defensive Player of the Year. Prattson led a Dolphins' defense that allowed just 89 goals in 15 games during the regular season, including six games in which their opposition scored five goals or less. He also scooped up 40 ground balls and caused 20 turnovers, both among the top 20 in the league this spring. Prattson was also named a First Team All-Conference honoree.

Merrimack's Sean Black was named the 2018 NE10 Men's Lacrosse Rookie of the Year. Black becomes the second straight Warriors student-athlete to be honored with this award as Charlie Bertrand was recognized last year. The high-scoring attack has had an outstanding first season in North Andover as he currently leads the NE10 in points with 70, and is second in assists with 41. Black was selected as the conference's rookie of the week six times during the season, and was also named a Second Team All-NE10 selection.

Saint Rose's Liam Guiton was selected as the NE10 Goalkeeper of the Year by the league's coaches. Guiton helped lead the Golden Knights to the best season in program history as they finished 9-8 overall, including 7-4 in NE10 play. Guitonfinished the season second in the league in saves and third in save percentage. His nine wins for Saint Rose were also fifth-best in the league. Guiton was also named a First Team selection, as well.

Saint Rose's Jim Morrissey was recognized as the NE10 Coach of the Year by his peers. Morrissey led Saint Rose to the best season in program history as they finished the regular season with a 7-4 mark in NE10 play, and hosted their first-ever NE10 postseason game earlier this week. Three of Morrissey's players were All-Conference selections, including Guiton who was recognized as the Goalkeeper of the Year.
