MANCHESTER, N.H. – Josh Taylor, an assistant with the Southern New Hampshire University men's soccer program since 2008, has been elevated to the head coach position following a national search, SNHU Director of Athletics and Recreation Anthony Fallacaro announced earlier this spring.
Taylor becomes the eighth head coach in program history.
"During the process of hiring our next men's soccer coach, it became clear that Josh was ready to take this step in his career and that he is the right person to maintain the level of success established by (former coach) Marc Hubbard," said Fallacaro. "Josh has learned a lot during his time with the program and I am excited for the future of Penmen men's soccer with him at the helm."

SNHU has been my home for the last seven years and I have always felt privileged to be involved with such a storied program. SNHU has always been a special place for me and I am excited to take the next step as head coach."
Taylor joined the men's soccer program as an assistant coach before the 2008 season and was elevated to the top assistant spot prior to the 2012 season. During that time, the Penmen have compiled a 117-20-16 (.817) record while making seven straight NCAA appearances, including four trips to the national quarterfinals in 2009, 2011, 2012 and 2013.
In 2013, the Penmen captured the ultimate prize, winning the second NCAA Division II national championship in program history with a 22-1-1 record. SNHU won four Northeast-10 Conference tournament titles (2008, 2012, 2013, 2014) and four regular season titles (2008, 2009, 2013, 2014) over that span.
A 2008 graduate from New England College with a degree in Sport and Recreation Management and a Coaching Minor. Taylor was four-year member for the Pilgrims men's soccer team being named to The Commonwealth Coast Conference All-Conference 3rd Team in 2007 and team captain in 2008. The Pilgrims also were ECAC Tournament finalists in 2007 and achieved 40 wins, most in school history, during a four-year span.
Taylor is also is the Associate Director for Soccer Sphere in which he works extensively with the youth programs in Hooksett, Amherst, Bow, Milford and Candia. He is also responsible for the logistical aspects for their summer, winter and school-break camps. Taylor holds a NSCAA National Diploma, NSCAA Advance Youth Diploma, and a USSF 'D' License.
He has completed a Master's Degree in Sport Management and a Certificate in International Sport Management from SNHU in 2010. During his Master's program he completed his internship with the New England Revolution in their Soccer Operations department. He is currently pursuing his second Master's Degree in Finance from SNHU.
Taylor resides with his wife, Erin, in Salem, N.H. with their daughter Lulu and two bulldogs, Paddy and Journey.
"I am thrilled to continue the traditions that have been set forth by dedicated alumni and a talented current group of student-athletes. I have always prided myself on the relationships with the players and look forward to developing good citizens on and off the field," added Taylor.
"A special thanks to Marc Hubbard, who always believed in me and ultimately gave me my college coaching start seven years ago. I look forward to continuing what we built together and keeping the standard high at SNHU."
