PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Southern New Hampshire University men's soccer standout Jonathan Lupinelli has been named the 2015-16 Northeast-10 Conference Male Outstanding Scholar-Athlete of the Year. The NE-10 recognized Lupinelli with the award at the conference's annual awards banquet on Monday, June 6 held in Providence, R.I.

Lupinelli graduated with a 3.97 GPA while earning a Master's degree in Marketing. He was selected as the NE-10 Sport Excellence Award winner in men's soccer this year, claiming the honor for the second time in his career. A three-time Academic All-Conference choice, Lupinelli helped the Penmen to their fourth straight NE-10 Championship in the fall.

Lupinelli was named a CoSIDA Academic All-American this year, picking up first team laurels for the second year in a row. Also on a national level, he was recognized with Scholar All-America, Scholar All-Region and All-East Region First Team honors by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA), as well as landing on the CoSIDA Academic All-District First Team and Conference Commissioners Association (CCA) All-Region First Team.

A regular starter at back for the Penmen, Lupinelli was a big reason why SNHU led the conference with a 0.47 goals-against average this season. Offensively, he finished third in the league in assists with eight. Wrapping up his career as a three-time all-conference selection, Lupinelli was named to the NE-10 All-Conference First Team this past season.
