Penzini, De Oliveira Tabbed First Team All-Americans

MANSFIELD, Mass. – Nine Northeast-10 men's soccer student-athletes were honored this fall with All-America status, including a pair of first team selections, as the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) and Conference Commissioners Association (CCA) handed out postseason accolades.
Overall, Adelphi led the charge with four All-Americans. Adelphi's Alejandro Penzini and Federico De Oliveira headlined the group with first team honors after guiding the NE10 Champion Panthers to the NCAA East Regional title.
Penzini was a unanimous first-teamer, picking up the honor from both the NSCAA and CCA. The NE10 Defensive Player of the Year, Penzini tallied five goals on the year, including two in the NCAA tournament. De Oliveira was tabbed as a first team All-American by the NSCAA and a third-teamer by the CCA. The NE10 Player of the Year, De Oliveira had five goals and seven assists this season, registering eight of his 17 points during the NCAA tournament.
Southern New Hampshire's Rayane Boukemia was selected to the NSCAA All-America Second Team, while Adelphi goalkeeper Spenser Powell, the national leader in save percentage this season, picked up second team honors from the CCA. Adelphi's Emil Thomsen and Franklin Pierce freshman Jacob Blixt, the NE10 Rookie of the Year, joined De Oliveira on the CCA All-America Third Team. Blixt and teammate Marius Preber were joined by Le Moyne's Ben Beaury and Merrimack's Lars Sund on the NSCAA All-America Third Team.
Eighteen NE10 men's soccer student-athletes picked up All-Region laurels, including 10 first team selections. Seventeen were recognized by the NSCAA, while 12 landed the honor from the CCA. Adelphi had the most honorees with six in total.
Additionally, Adelphi's coaching staff, led by head coach Carlo Acquista, was recognized by the NSCAA as the East Regional Staff of the Year.
