CoSIDA ACADEMIC ALL-AMERICA RELEASE: MEN | WOMEN

Adelphi, Franklin Pierce and Saint Rose Each with Two Honorees.

MANSFIELD, Mass. – The Northeast-10 Conference had six soccer student-athletes selected to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-America teams on Tuesday, as they were recognized for their outstanding performance in the classroom during the 2020-21 school year. Adelphi, Franklin Pierce and Saint Rose each had multiple honorees.

Franklin Pierce's Carlos Ferrando Felis and Yannik Felber were named First Team Academic All-America, along with Adelphi's Paolo Marciano and Saint Rose's Filippo Bellu to represent the men's side. Saint Rose's Marika Laurendeau was First Team and Adelphi's Mia York was picked for the Third Team on the women's side.

Based on the absence of most fall sports competition, the CoSIDA Academic All-America Committee revised some rules and procedures for nominating student-athletes this season. Due to the low percentage of games completed this season, the nominees were selected based on career statistics and achievements.

22 of the 33 members of the CoSIDA Academic All-America Division II Women's Soccer teams have at least a 3.90 GPA, with 10 student-athletes maintaining a perfect 4.0 GPA.

24 of the 33 members of the CoSIDA Academic All-America Division II Men's Soccer teams have at least a 3.80 GPA, with seven student-athletes maintaining a perfect 4.0 GPA.

Felber is one of only two men's soccer players to earn a repeat appearance on the CoSIDA Academic All-America team. He was a First Team selection in 2019, as well as a Second Team selection in 2018.

The NE10 had increased representation among its soccer players who earned Academic All-America status in 2021, as six honorees were twice as many as its 2019 total of three honorees.
